National Postgraduate Loans
From Academic Year2018/2019, loans will be available of up to £25,000 from the UK Government for Doctoral Students starting a full or part time course. To be eligible for this loan you must be:
- An English Student
- Accepted for Doctoral Degree at a UK University
- Not in receipt of a Research Council living allowance
The loans will be available to self-funded UK nationals aged 59 or under. This website will be updated once full details have been announced by the UK government.

As an MPhil or MRes student, you may be eligible for a Postgraduate Masters Loan. This is not available for students registering for a PhD.
