At CU Scarborough, we deliver our part-time degree courses in a way that suits people with busy lives. Our courses run on a part-time basis according to demand. Courses are taught either 9-5pm one day a week, or 6-10pm two evenings a week.

Unlike other universities, it could take only three years to complete a part-time degree at CU Scarborough. Each course is made up of short blocks of seven week durations.

You can study up to four blocks in one year. You need to study 12 blocks for a degree, 8 for a HND and 4 for the HNC. However, you can choose to slow the pace down and study your course one block at a time.

All of our part-time courses include classroom-based and online learning. We provide tutorial support to assist you outside the normal class times and we make it our business to make sure you are progressing well with your studies.

Study one day a week

For many prospective students you may find it convenient to study for your degree or professional qualification on just one day a week. Our degree courses are available to be delivered during 8 hours of contact one day a week, typically Wednesday 9am-5pm. Additional content is delivered through online learning. You study with us for up to 24 weeks per year, broken up into up to four, six-week blocks.

Study in the evening

If like many people, you regularly find yourself busy with other commitments during the daytime, you will find the option to study during evenings the ideal solution. Evening courses run Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6pm-10pm.

Evening degree courses are delivered over seven-week blocks and you can study up to four blocks per year. They begin with either a Foundation or HNC.

Please note, evening courses run subject to numbers.

All of CUS part-time foundation and degree courses are eligible for a student loan which covers the costs of the tuition fee from Student Finance England.
