Clearing explained

Making Clearing
easy

The Clearing process, which is operated by UCAS, is designed to help people find a university course that still has places available.

Some people believe that going through Clearing is a negative process, but that's actually not true. It's simply a way to find you the best university and course for your needs and circumstances. In many ways students can actually benefit from Clearing.

1
When is Clearing?

Clearing technically opens in July but most people refer to Clearing as A-level results day, which this year will be Thursday 16 August. Coventry University's Clearing Hotline 024 76 791 791 is open:

Thursday 16 August (7am - 7pm) | Friday 17 August (7am - 7pm)
Saturday 18 August (10am - 4pm) | Sunday 19 August (10am - 4pm)
From Monday 20 August (8.30am - 5pm)

2
What can I study?

We have a list of Clearing courses with places available for this September.

3
What is Adjustment?

If you do better in your exams than expected, then first of all, congratulations and second of all, you may want to think again about your study options. You can do this through a process called 'Adjustment'. The UCAS website has more information on the Adjustment process.
