An Introduction to Blood Tests for Advanced Clinical Practice
About the Course
This is an interactive one day course delivered by the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, aimed at Health Care Practitioners wanting to learn about requesting and interpreting blood tests. This course explores the basic physiology and normal values behind a range of blood tests common to musculoskeletal clinical practice. Building on this foundation, it then explores abnormal blood test values and how to interpret them in the clinical context. The tutors use case studies throughout the day to facilitate the application of theory into practice. Delegates will leave the day with a comprehensive understanding of the basics of blood test interpretation and how to justify the selection of blood test relevant to the musculoskeletal field. Resources will also be provided to support the day’s learning.
